Info: Leo Sewell (born 7 September 1945 (age 70)) is an American "found object" artist. His assemblages of recycled material are in over 40 museums and in private collections worldwide.
Statement: Sewell says, "I do all my dogs and cats life-size, and some smaller animals, like ducks and mice, I’ll do bigger. There’s something sort of humorous and thrilling about taking an innocent animal and making it bigger than life."
Background Info: Leo Sewell's amazing Penguin sculpture made entirely of scrap. Junk artist Leo Sewell creates his 'rubbish' artwork from junk he collects from refuse dumps round his native Philadelphia. Using any discarded plastic, metal and wood, Leo selects his raw materials for their color, shape and durability.
