Statement: Alma Lee: I was once asked if I felt my art was relevant. I feel beauty is always relevant, it is my job to negotiate the path between pretty and true beauty and my work is infused with the energy of hyper sight.

Background Info:  Quote from Alma Lee, "There is some much beauty in something that we throw away almost every time we receive it. When was the last time you took the time to really look at those simple ordinary things that find their way into our midst. This is what happened to me one day when I was tiding up a bit. I always save bubble wrap to ship my paintings in, but as I carried it to the trash, I walked past a sunlight window and stop right then and there and took a good long look…maybe for the first time. I challenge you to do the same."

Theme: So while this piece of work is not made of recycled materials, it does show the beauty of a material (Bubble wrap) that is often thrown in the trash.
