Conclusion

This now concludes the Recycle 2.0 exhibition.

Right, so time to be real. When first hearing about this project I thought it was going to be easy. Boy, was I wrong! I had no idea the time it took to pick and choose each piece of work. There are so many amazing artists to choose from it was really hard to narrow it down! When I first started thinking about my theme I thought of just the simple topics. It wasn’t until I googled “cool art” that I saw Aurora Robsons piece. After that, I was hooked. I found the use of recycled pieces to make art so fascinating and beautiful!

Finding the artists was the fun part. The challenging part, was when I had to decide which pieces would fit better with my theme and which pieces had to be exempt. I have a whole new respect for curators now. I will admit that when I would go to an art gallery I assumed that someone decided just to put the cool looking pieces in one corner and the bright colored ones in another corner. I had never realized the amount of time and energy it took to make a exhibition look amazing as they often do. When I first started the project I didn’t understand how to connect many different artists to one theme. Now that I have finished, I look back and realize that there is no way that someone could just slap something together. It takes time. You have to think about each piece and each artist and think, “does this fit?” All in all, I really enjoyed this project, it was so much fun finding artists that are not on everyones radar, and I will be more aware of trash that is thrown away and think to myself, what could I make of that junk?!
